Gastric Ulcer
i was wondering if anyone else have developed gastric ulcers after taking Galzin for several years? If so, please tell me about your experience and if you continued taking Galzin.
I got 2 gastric ulcers after being on Galzin for only 6 months. My gastro doc was not happy. Yes, I went off Galzin and tried several different over -the- counter zincs. Now I'm on Syprine but if I were to do it again, I would try Gluzin. The Wilson disease association (WDA) has s relationship with the maker of Gluzin and he knows to be careful to put the correct amount of zinc in each of his pills. You can find Gluzin on the internet; it's over- the- counter.
I am not on Galzin but since the meds (Cuprimine) I'm on for Wilson Disease are hard on the stomach etc I take Pantaloc daily to reduce the chances of stomach and Gastric problems. One note of concern is that Galzin prevents more copper from entering your system and Syprine helps get rid of the copper already in your system -- might want to make sure your doctor is aware of this.
Thank you! You have just confirmed my suspicions. I was on Syprine for 2 1/2 years and then switched over to Galzin about 5 years ago. I have not had any problems until now.
