Diagnosed with systemic-onset JRA in 1990, now known as systemic-onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (SJIA). After a period of remission for a number of years as an adult I presented to ER with a serious flare and they wouldn't listen to me AT ALL about my medical history and I almost died. I was re-diagnosed with adult-onset Still's disease. They really don't know what they are doing. I can not find a rheumy that will even bother to look up this disease instead of treating me like an idiot liar, not since I was a kid. It is a hideous disease. I have a lot of joint damage and some permanent disability.
