Decemeber 2017, on holiday abroad. Huge chest pain, collapsed. Rushed to ED by paramedics, Type A AD diagnosed, 14 hour operation, 6 weeks ICU, 2 weeks on ward, 2 months rehab before able to fly home. Veey lucky to have had this happen very near an expert aortic surgery centre.
