Story about Celiac Disease .

Gluten Sucks

Aug 23, 2017

Hi all.

At 51 years old and an Ironman Trathlete I am very in tune with my body and how it reacts to foods and fluids. In June of 2016 I noticed I was loosing power and endurance. Fatigue setting in and one day had a rye bread with cucumber and tomato. One hour later I got so sick with cramps and rapid trips to the washroom. I started googling symptoms on the mayo clinic site and diagnosed myself as celiac. Went to the doctor and had a TTG blood test. Sadly positive then and biopsy to confirm it. yup.  Just one year later I am getting better. There has been some depression dealing with it and many mistakes with this huge learning curve. I have accepted it as they are the cards I have been delt. Onward and time to train for another trathlon.
