A Cholesteatoma story

Apr 2, 2017

In 2013 my son aged 4 had ear infection, after ear infection drs kept prescribing antibiotics. Finally we were sent to ENT where a CT scan revealed he had a Cholesteatoma. In April 2014 he had his first op which was a cavity wall up. He was fine after the op all went well. He had an ear plug made to keep water out. Then in Nov 2016 I noticed the smelly discharge from his ear. :( A MRI scan revealed the cholesteatoma had returned and he would need another op.  Over Christmas he had pain and swelling behind his ear. We rushed him to hospitals and found he had an abscess. He had surgery the next day to have it drained. On 6th Feb he had surgery to remove disease this time wall down. It's almost 2 months now since his op and he is doing well. Just trying to find as much info as possible.
