New Year's Eve 2012 everyone was happy and looking forward to the new year then my life changed drastically as the new year came in so did my friends cat, very lovingly she rubbed her body against my legs! I was a very big cat lover until she sank her teeth into my right hand leaving 2 punctures either side, I instantly lost all feeling and swelling and redness appeared. I took myself off to hospital to be given antibiotics however not realising at that time my immune system was very low and found after 3 days of visiting A&E they were not working. I almost collapsed at the reception desk and was immediately rushed through to majors. 3 days later I was operated on to remove an absis also had cellulitis and told I had a bad case of cate scratch disease so on an Iv for almost 13 days in the hospital. Then told operation was a complete success and sent home stitches to be removed by practice nurse 5 days later, but I still had no use in my hand and I still had pain and burning what was happening, I felt isolated disbelieved depressed my emotions were all over the place I was referred to doctors and specialist was told I may need therapy and then I finally see pain management after a 9 month wait the consultant wrote to another consultant who also agreed that I had CRPS I have recently been on a trial but was taken off as it made my symptoms worse but am not losing hope. I'm thankful to find a website of people with similar things as its not as known out there as it should be doctors need to taught more on diagnosing this terrible condition.
