CRPS

Mar 10, 2016

My CRPS began following a severely sprained foot & ankle and a torn tendon (same foot).  The injury happened during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.  My mom was vacuuming and when we lost electricity, she just left the vacuum in the middle of the floor.  When I went to get a flashlight, I thought I had a clear path but fell over (viciously attacked by) the vacuum.  I knew my foot hurt, but I had no idea it was sprained, so I worked a further two weeks of 12-hour days; I was working as a pastry chef at the time.  Those 12-hour days definitely didn't help and made the injuries worse.  I had to quit and spent 8 months off my feet until I finally got a diagnosis.

The pain hasn't stopped.  If anything, it's just gotten worse over the years.  And nothing my doctors have tried has made any difference at all...very very frustrating.
