Story about Cyclic vomiting syndrome .

Being a Medical Mystery

Feb 4, 2016

By: Julie

At age 17ish, I sustained a head injury.  My symptoms started just after that time.  I went through 20+ PCPs over the years...countless specialists...but was considered a Medical Mystery.

At age 43, I had enough of suffering. I found a doc at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  He is through the Digestive Disorder Center there. Believe it or not, my symptoms were reduced about 2 days after my first visit with him.  About a year later, my syptoms started 'breaking through' the meds.  He added an anti-convulsant to my med routine and BAM! no more episodes.  I have been episode free for almost 7 months now.
