Story about Ectodermal Dysplasia .

Our amazing son.

May 11, 2017

Hi. I'm Stuart Atkiss, trustee and fundrasing co-ordinater for ectodermal dysplasia society, and my fiancee Michelle we don't have ED and neither of us are carriers. Our son Taylor has X-linked ED. We first realised something was different when his teeth started coming through as they were both pointed. We went to the dentist where he then transferred us to the dental hospital in Birmingham that's when we were told Taylor seems like he has got Ectodermal Dysplasia. We went to see the geneticist where she confirmed Taylor has ED. Taylor is now 4yrs old has the one pointed tooth capped now the other pointed tooth came out when he fell over. The other 4 teeth are back teeth and not pointed. He will according to the x-ray has 9 adult teeth. Taylor can sweat has hair which is getting thicker as was sparse at first. So it seems to be a mild case of ED. Taylor is very popular at school he does have teeth made now and we are going to hopfully get them in july.
