I had suffered from pain and swelling in my right hip and leg for at least 10 years prior to my diagnosis. Finally after seeing an orthopedic doctor for intense pain in January of 2001, I was sent to the University of Minnesota for a bone biospy.
Since then I have had two children and I hope that neither of them end up with this dreadful disease.
The only person that ever understood how painful bone pain is was a doctor who performed a c-secrion on me when my son was born in 2004. I don't think my husband and children really ever get it.
