Story about Multiple Systems Atrophy .

My mother Claudia

By: Claudia

Claudia died in December 2004 at age 69. She was diagnosed in 2003 with MSA and declined quickly. She had the inability to urinate requiring catherization, vocal cord paralysis, inability to hold head up, and gradual but quickly a decline in mobility. She was a prisoner in her own body that she was losing control of. It was very difficult to watch this disease take over. Doctors could do very little to help and there was no cure. I hope for more research, understanding and some day a cure.
