Tarlov cysts: nemesis of pain

Year Condition Began: 2012


My journey began in 2012 after a hard fall. I went to many doctors that, of course couldn’t help. I finally went to Texas Back Institute and they did a MRI. The doctor there noticed the cysts and sent me to a neurologist. The neurologist said there was no hope and decided a spinal cord stimulator would be helpful. My husband then found Dr. Feigenbaum and said we should go there. Luckily he is in Dallas. Dr. Feigenbaum saw me and scheduled surgery. That was the best thing I ever did. I’m thankful my husband insisted I go there, I was I a bit skeptical at first. I think I’m developing a trust issue for doctors. He did surgery in September of 2012 and I’ve been pretty good since then. I do still have nerve pain but it’s controlled with medication. I go to a pain management doctor in Southlake, Texas, they have been great.
