My journey with Chiari

Hi, I have Chiari, EDS, arthritis in my spine and knees , DDD, neural foramina stenosis, obstructive sleep apnea. For more than20 years I was misdiagnosed as having cluster headaches and migraines . Finally diagnosed in 2009 had surgery sept 2012 , signed up to climb a mountain 5 weeks after surgery.(couldn't climb my stairs to bed before having surgery) so this was a huge commitment! I trained like a soldier, went to the gym twice a day , boot camp 3 times a week and walked over a hundred miles a week! Just 1 year after surgery I was stood at the very top of Mount Kilimanjaro, raising awareness of Chiari and raising over £7,500 for research through the Ann conroy trust in the UK.  I am still well , still climbing mountains and still here to share my story to give hope to others .
